Our dad George Christoher McCartney

Our dad is our world!Fiercely loyal, independent, proud and totally self-less.Our dad was his own man, a true original, who loved his family more than anything. He was only happy if he knew that his family were happy and safe. Sadly our dad was taken ill on the 6th October with Sepsis Pneumonia. He was given 48hrs to live, as his lungs were in such a bad condition from COPD. Our dad is a fighter though and refused to give up! Forever we will remember him as the man who took the hardest option; Option 1! Doctors were amazed, they had never seen anyone survive beyond 48hrs in his condition, but our dad kept fighting for an incredible 17 days. The doctors were amazed; one in a million, unique... a fighter to the very end. Our hearts were sadly broken on Thursday 23rd October at 1735 when our dad slipped away from us; the fight that could not be won. We are so proud of our dad and words cannot express the sadness and loss in our lives at the moment. However, we want to do our dad proud and remember him for the remarkable man he is. Please add a tribute, in whatever way you wish to help us mark his passing. If you can, please leave a donation so that the British Lung Foundation can lead the fight in treating COPD. Our dad will leave us on Wednesday 19th November at 1100hrs at Woodlands Cemetery, Coleshill. We will then move on to the Fox and Goose, Ward End to raise a pint of mild and remember our dad, George Christopher McCartney. Dad we will love you forever and you will always be in our hearts We miss you, our love forever, Dawn and Juliette XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
